What a peaceful, quiet scene...a small beaver pond right after dawn. In reality, a parent beaver was thrashing and smashing his tail violently through the water, letting me know that I had come too close to his mud and stick lodge located just to the left of this photo. I had forgotten that baby beavers would still be inside their house.
Only after I had walked several minutes away from the pond did the parent stop his loud alarms. I told him that I was sorry, but he wasn't having any of it.
